Declare voting day - the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November - a national holiday.

Created by J.R. on November 03, 2014

In most families, both spouses have to work in order to make ends meet. It has become increasingly difficult for people in our modern lives to find enough time to vote during their busy working hours, and many employers do not allow their employees time off to enjoy the privilege of helping select those who will represent us both locally and nationally. By declaring Voting Day a national holiday, it will allow more people to take part in one of our great freedoms and most inalienable rights, ensuring the strength of our Democracy by increasing participation and ensuring everyone has a voice in the direction our nation takes.
