The Great Depression was ended by government spending on infrastructure and preparing for World War II. If war is good for business, why not a war on climate change? Call Superstorm Sandy "Pearl Harbor" and the mid-West drought "9/11." Sandy made the Northeast look like a war zone and the mid-West drought threatens our food supply and stopping commerce on the Mississippi River. Studies show the financial cost of doing nothing far exceeds the cost of action now. Instead of weapons, we can produce green energy / smart grid technology built and installed by US workers. Gained economic productivity from unlimited free fuel would offset infrastructure investment, thus lowering the debt and exporting the technology would lower the trade deficit. Climate change threatens national security.
