Declare war or stay home

Created by N.T. on January 12, 2013

Undeclared wars are an unacceptable avoidance of the laws our nation was founded on. Our constitution gives our representatives in Congress the power to declare war so that the executive branch does not take the nation into a fight against the will of the people. Decades of historic precedent indicate that an executive decision to enter a war is very rarely a good one. I submit that we move to reaffirm the sole and exclusive right of Congress to bring this nation to war, military conflict, police action, or any other activity that requires even a single American soldier to bear arms in a foreign country.
