Screamo (in my opinion and true metal fans alike) promotes fame that outweighs actual music. Bands like Blood on the Dancefloor, Black Viel Brides, Bring Me The Horizon, I Killed The Prom Queen, Pierce The Viel, Sleeping With Sirens, Suicide Silence etc should be noted as not part of the actual metal genre. Metalcore should only be classified with screamo if they have that genre's tendencies such as fame, cutting wrists, overdose, and suicide. These horrible subjects get people confused on what is good and what isn't. While Metalcore technically has these bands in the genre such as Asking Alexandria, they own the same subjects in their lyrics like the ones I have listed above. So please, in noting these differences, do not link screamo with any other type of metal music.
