The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency faces increasing redundancy with automated software and analytic expertise in other agencies, poor financial management, and scandals involving bad maps, wasteful spending and punishing those who speak out. To remedy these issues and help balance the Federal budget, NGA should be dissolved, its analytic assets distributed to other agencies.
All non-analyst civilian personnel (including executive, legal, financial, security, and admin staff) should be released from Federal service with 3 months notice, excepting veterans who have transitioned from military service within the past 10 years, who will instead be moved to other agencies. To avoid "sinking-ship" flight of the well-connected, this applies to all employed by NGA as of 1 September 2013.
