Decrease congressional salaries and invest more money in our children, elders, and disabled.

Created by J.H. on January 31, 2014

While Congress is budgeting to cut programs like Social Security, which are beneficial to our elderly and disabled, the president is earning a whopping $400,000 per year. But this isn't it for the President. Once he leaves office, he will earn approximately $1.5 million in pension benefits on top of that base salary. Meanwhile, the salary of a Senator or Congressman is $172,500.
Dear Congress and President, we believe these salaries, combined with the cuts to programs such as Social Security are unfair. Social Security is beneficial to our seniors, disabled, and others who are unable to work for themselves. We ask you to decrease presidential and congressional salaries, and stop the war on benefits programs.
