We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Decrease the cost of student loans and higher education

Created by K.S. on June 14, 2016

Higher education is becoming costly to students, especially those who borrow money to attend college. I would like to call on the government to re-evaluate the cost of public universities, and the interest rates on student loans. I implore them to decrease the cost of public universities, in addition to decreasing the interest rates. Sometimes interest accrues while the student is in school, leading them to graduate with tens or even hundreds of thousands of debt. Lastly, while the 10 year public service loan forgiveness plan is helpful, I encourage congress to reduce the number of payments to let our citizens be unburdened from some of their debt.
Going to college shouldn't put someone in debt for the rest of their life. Please, PLEASE re-evaluate student loans and the cost of college.
