The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently been imposing fees between $15,000 to $200,000 to staff temporary air traffic control towers as a result of the budget sequestration. These fees are not affordable for small airport managers, and can possibly shut down many summer general aviation events. Airshows introduce aviation to the general public, and spark interest in transportation and aerospace engineering. By decreasing these enormous fees, they can be more affordable and keep these events open for sharing aviation with the coming generations.
