Decrease our current rate of water usage by outlawing the production of beef.

In order to pave the way to preventing a water crisis in the near future we must cut back on how and where we use our water, and by prohibiting beef production and beef imports we can significantly lower our current water usage in the US and the world. 30% of our water usage goes towards the meat industry, and most of that is connected to beef production. It takes 1,847 gal./ lb for 1 pound of beef compared to 1248 gal./ lb for a pound of chicken. On top of this, beef production requires 28 times more land than chicken production. An added benefit is that cutting out beef will lower greenhouse gas emissions and overall make the world a better place.
