Over time, politicians salaries have done nothing but increase. They were even paid during a time they couldn't agree on anything; any other time this would be grounds for being fired. Acting as a the voice of the American people started as a positions that simply afforded you food and comfortable living. This is NO longer the case. Politicians are meant to represent the people, not hoover above them, making rules to keep themselves protected.
Allowing persons with specific agendas and narrow viewpoints to remain the small voice of the entire country is blasphamy. Even someone who considers all angles of every issue will have their own personal opinion. Unless you constantly alter those representing these opinions, the opinion of this country will become one in the same, represented b
