a great way to make a step forward in balancing our budget would be to decrease or congressmens salaries to be equal with what the average american worker makes. it is unfair that our tax dollars go to paying these large salaries, since most reps already have plenty of money, plus they have no insider trading laws restricting them like the rest of us. we could save some money and send a message to congress by doing this. our senators and representatives shouldnt reject this idea either since they are serving in congress for the good of the country, not to make money right? which we know isnt true, if we decrease their pay only people that truly care for this country will run for office, rather than a bunch of lawyers and politicians just trying to make an easy buck.
