Decriminalize and definitively end the "War on Drugs".

Created by A.G. on March 15, 2013

Since its declaration in 1971 by Richard Nixon, we have seen a soar of increase in drug use and it has taken its toll. Since 1994, Marijuana usage among high school seniors has increased by 62%, cocaine usage has increased from 5.9% in 1994 to 9.8% in 1999. The government issued a household survey and retaliated stating "the increase was due to change of methodology". Any reasonable person would see that is not simply true. As seen in the prohibition in the 1930's, crime rates were up, mafias were created and a black market established. To prevent the repetition of history, the solution is simple. Decriminalize drugs such as marijuana, make it taxable like Tobacco and release the dealers of pot . Not only will this save Americans millions, but it will stop the Drug Lords in Latin America.
