Decriminalize cannabis at the federal level and leave it to the indiviual states to decide its legal status.

Created by T.E. on January 31, 2014

We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented with the current state of marijuana laws. It is widely known and supported by science that cannabis is less addictive and generally less harmful compared to the recreational consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, yet it remains illegal.

Not only has marijuana proven to be generally not harmful it has also been proven to be associated with many medical benefits such as the ability to prevent and cure certain types of cancer and useful in treating autism and epilepsy.

With the current economic difficulties this country has been facing Colorado is serving as proof towards the amount of tax revenue that can be generated by legalization. It is time this country reevaluates the federal laws regarding cannabis.
