It is time for the Federal government to acknowledge the medicinal benefits of cannabis by numerous peer reviewed medical studies. With this acknowledgment it is time to move cannabis/marijuana from a schedule 1 to schedule 2 substance.
Our nation imprisons far to many people, at substantial cost, for minor and non-violent drug crimes. These resources could be far better spent on Pell Grants, reducing middle class taxes, and many other beneficial programs.
