Decriminalize Denial-of-service attacks

Created by J.S. on November 20, 2012

By signing this petition we want the US government to recognize a Denial-of-service attack as an equivalent to an act of a "sit in."

A denial-of-service attack temporarily limits access to a website, by a cultivation of users accessing the website in order to stop traffic to a specific website. This is the same thing as when civil rights activists refused to leave white only establishments, by sitting in the establishment, and temporarily shutting down an establishment.

Once a denial-of-service attack ends (The internet protesters stop the "internet sit in") the website is able to resume normal traffic. Thus is the equivalent of a sit in, but brought to a modern age where the internet is seen as a new medium of communication, and a tool for protesters.
