Decriminalize K-12 Truancy Laws

Created by D.D. on August 12, 2013

Almost every state has mandatory attendance laws with civil and criminal penalties for students missing school. Students are forced to attend low-performing schools. Many public schools are scenes of political indoctrination. Any state receiving Federal funds for public education must reduce the penalties for truancy to three (3) letters: 1) a cautionary letter, 2) a stern letter and 3) a stern letter sent by registered mail. Letters may be sent just once a year.
