Marijuana has been an illegal substance in the United States for many years. With in the last 15 years or so, states have begun to recognize it for medical purposes, even though the federal government still had it recognized as a controlled substance. Recently there have been two states Washington and Colorado that have legalized it for recreational use for those over 21. This has allowed for an untapped economic boom in those two states just for the sale and cultivation of marijuana. The tax doesn't include hemp which is used for textiles. I ask the Obama Administration to look at and attempt to decriminalize marijuana and hemp so that we can start to use the tax dollars to help the economy. Doing so would also create a new field for jobs.
