While legalizing it entirely would be the best force to battle the injustice of our outdated system, we must be realistic and take steps, as small as it may be, to decriminalize marijuana in Virginia. Let us voice together peacefully, respectfully and honorably as Virginians and Americans, to change a law that has ruined the many lives of good non violent people in the Commonwealth with imprisonment and felonies, while states around us have updated their laws. We stay in the past. Too many resources are used for non violent crimes because of the powerful anti weed lobbyists such as the drug testing industry and other forces who have a financial stake in keeping marijuana illegal.
