Decriminalize minor possession of all currently drugs on the federal level and rationally re-examine their scheduling.

The War on Drugs has been an appalling failure, in large part because there was never any way a rational individual would expect it to succeed. Human beings have a drive for altered states of consciousness via the ingestion of chemically active substances, plants, or admixtures. It has been with us long before the United States of America, and will be with us until the last among us falls. The prohibition against some substances is a violation of our constitutional right to freedom of religion, and is not a policy made via amendment to the constitution, unlike alcohol prohibition. Moreover, said prohibition has not curtailed use of ANY of the prohibited substances significantly over the course of decades, nor was it instituted on any rational or scientific basis.
