It is time for marijuana, or medical marijuana to be legalized in this country. There is no sense why something that can help people is illegal, while tobacco, which kills millions, is legal.
Crime will also decrease, as a number of non violent users will not be charged with a crime, and many will be released from prison, saving millions more in the prison system, relieving the stress and overcrowding, and freeing up the court systems as well.
The health benefits are much safer than prescription drugs without the harmful side affects, and if it is legalized, the price of prescription drugs for those who will chose to use them will plummet, saving more money on medicare and medicad expenses in the long run.
