Over 20 million Americans have been arrested for simple marijuana offenses since 1965. Enforcement of the current marijuana prohibition costs the tax payers around $7.7 billion dollars annually where as legization and regulation would generate a projected $10 to $14 billion dollars in government revenue. We have had enough of paying for our liberties to be taken. The time has come to amend criminal prohibition and eventually establish a system of taxation, regulation, and education but many have puched back on marijuana regulation in an effort to maintain the status quo or to profit by some other agenda but with the decriminaztion of marijuana young lives will no longer be haunted by the past and dreams will no longer not be broken over the victimless crime of simple possession.
