This petition is to try to decriminalize the production of hemp and marijuana. Hemp is one of the most versatile textiles around. It shouldn't be a criminal offense to grow a plant for the use of textiles.
As for marijuana. Public safety officials say that its illegal for public safety reasons. Yet the one substance that has zero deaths related to it is still illegal. On the other hand heroin, meth, and cocaine still take lives daily yet public safety personnel there attention is still on marijuana.
