Decriminalize the use and distribution of entheogenic plants and fungi, used for millenia by cultures across the planet.

We the People, ask our government to remove entheogenic plant and fungal species, such as (but not limited to) psilocybin-containing mushrooms, ayahuasca, mimosa hostilis, peyote, iboga and many others, from the federal list of Controlled Substances.
These substances have been in use by human beings for millenia. Many of them are proven to have no addictive or harmful effects from their use. Contrary to our government's judgment, these plants do indeed have medicinal benefits, especially in traditional/shamanic medicine.
The social stigma surrounding these substances in the West is unmerited, and their illegality hinders the contribution to society that these substances potentially provide. Increased scientific research and public education about entheogens must be implimented.
