Let me be clear, drugs should not be legalized; however, evidence from other countries has shown that the treatment of drugs as a public health issue and not a criminal one actually lowers the incidences of use and overdose. I propose that instead of funding a war on drugs, we decriminalize both possession and use of drugs and fine for use and possession, as well as enacting public rehab for those who are fined multiple times.
