Let's place a spotlight on the importance of sober, rational thinking based on evidence and logic. Further advances in technology, medicine and world peace(!) require that we shed divisive, irrational dogma from past millennia, and craft a shared set of values and human rights for all.
Even in the 21st century we are surrounded and constantly influenced by ancient superstitions, irrational fears, and premature jumps to poor conclusions. Children, especially, are prone to fall victim to folklore and myth that seem, on the surface, to explain everyday events from sudden weather changes to wellness, sickness and death.
By dedicating one month to the celebration and teaching of reason, logic and moral values, we can improve out children's education and appreciation for the natural world.
