Deduct the cost of Medical Insurance Premiums from overall income when calculating SNAP (Food Stamp) Benefits

Created by J.P. on July 17, 2013

When the overall income is calculated for families applying for federal food stamp benefits, the cost of Medical Insurance is not considered. These rates can be hundreds of dollars per month and should be allowed as an expense. The current system does not recognize the premium, and therefore, does not deduct it from the total household income.
