The impetus for this legislation is a heavily edited video that does not portray the actual process used to provide fetal tissue for research purposes. First, the mother grants permission for the tissue to be harvested, and receives no funds for doing so. Second, the research organization is sent the material. Third, the research organization REIMBURSES the costs of harvesting and transporting the tissue. No profit is made by any parties that participate in such a transaction.
Further, NO government funds directed to Planned Parenthood are used to fund ANY abortion procedures.
