The Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court effectively gave rights to corporations to spend unlimited sums of money on political messaging to influence elections. This is toxic to democracy, to the power of the vote, and the free will of the people. Over 200 years of interpretation of the Constitution and over one 100 years of federal elections laws banned such practices. We The People must correct this dire situation. The President may not be able to act on this alone, but the US government must conform to the Will of The People, to overturn or make null and void through legislation, the disastrous Citizens United decision.
