In the wake of the violence that happened in Connecticut, we must take proactive measures to ensure those who cannot defend themselves, are well defended against violence. Bringing back the assault weapons ban is not the answer and here's why.
On another tragic day, there was a school shooting at Columbine High School in 1999, this was DURING an active assault weapons ban. This shows us that no matter what, the bad guys will find a way to get a gun to cause harm.
The solution? We are asking that an armed, trained, background checked individual, if voted in by the city or town, be posted at every school in America. A public vote would ensure it's exactly what the people want. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.
