The USA has spend too much money and time fighting Al Qaeda to ignore its presence in Mali, a potentially strong ally in northern Africa. Please sign this and urge the president to support France and other allies of ours that are already on the ground fighting the coup. Our law states we do not assistance a government formed by a military coup, but Mali has been a democracy for a decade. The coup is happening now-against the democratic leaders of Mali who are friendly to the US. If we don't intervene and help our allies now, Africa will be worse off, Al Qaeda will grow stronger in Africa, and ultimately we will be very sorry we did nothing.
