The administration has repeatedly posed the question as to why a citizen 'needs' certain popular weapons. The simplest response would be that as a free person you shouldn't have to justify your need for items or actions that don't infringe on the rights of others, but we're willing to accept the administration's logic. But, for the sake of simple consistency and fairness, we ask that the administration define it's stance on ALL rights in terms of objective need.
That would mean that the administration should be against a woman's right to choose unless she can demonstrate to a 3rd party her need for an abortion. They should be in favor of limits on freedom of expression, of the press, and the exercise of religion, unless the citizen can prove the necessity of the free exercise thereof.
