The definition of terrorism is the use or perceived threat of violence to coerce or intimidate governments and/or their people. In the case of Westboro Baptist Church, they are using their interpretation of the Bible to coerce and intimidate the population of the United States at various times and various locations to conform with their ideological beliefs. Westboro Baptist claims that a god will damn all who will not conform to an eternal agony in a place called "Hell". The group also claims in regards to tragedies that befall the United States that "America is being punished for its acceptance of gays and lesbians". Though no yet physically violent, they use methods of psychological warfare similar to Islamic terrorists to force their religious and political agendas.
