I don't believe we should be paying Congress members a salary and giving them benefits while they continue to get nothing done. If all they want to do is fight and bicker with each other, let them pay for it themselves (the majority of them are quite wealthy anyway).
Congress currently has the lowest approval rating in history, frivolous and time-wasting bills are introduced on the floor every month, and barely represent their constituents until an election year. All while they collect a hefty salary and receive the best benefits of any job in the US.
They aren't working, they don't deserve pay.
Taking away their salary+benefits will encourage them to change or leave the position; either of which is acceptable to general population.
