Delay the Implementation of the Individual Mandate in the Affordable Healthcare Act by One Year

Created by J.W. on August 07, 2013

Since the announcement of the delay of the Employer Mandate, it has been repeatedly asked why is the
Individual Mandate not delayed as well? Is it any less burdensome to to implement and control? Will the financial impact on the 30+ million individuals be that minimal? I believe that the answer is no and that the Individual Mandate should most certainly be delayed and the public should be far more informed on exactly how the exchanges work and what taxes and penalties they might be subject to. As i work with insurance plans every day, i know how complex even simple plans can be. So If it was important enough to delay the Mandate for corporations, than it is good enough to delay it for the American people.
