The BATFE should remove firearm suppressors from the NFA to promote hearing loss abatement and common courtesy for people who aren't nearby the firearm. Hunting is allowed with suppressors in many states, which is a distinct sporting purpose protected under the 2nd Amendment.
Less than 2% of crime in which a firearm is discharged had use of a suppressor (http://bit.ly/16Zk119) and "the assumption that silenced firearms are more dangerous than ordinary firearms has never been empirically researched."
A system is already in place to have devices serialized by the manufacturer, as well as 30-yr minimum sentences for crimes committed with suppressors. Allow firearm retailers to sell them like regular firearms and give more access to people who wish to be more courteous to their neighbors.
