Demand an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to End Corporate Personhood.

Created by J.F. on October 20, 2011

In the 1886 case Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, 118 U.S. 394, the Supreme Court recognized corporations as persons for purposes of the Fourteenth Amendment.

At the heart of this decision was the Citizenship Clause and a reversal of Dred Scott vs. Sanford (that held that blacks could never become U.S. citizens). But, by some miracle, this landmark decision was carelessly interpreted to include corporations as well.

Since then, corporations/special interests have "bought" Washington and bastardized the integrity of our democracy. Corporations write the legislation; they lobby our political leaders; and they enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else...

We, the 99%, won't stand to have our rights usurped any longer. The time for "Change" is NOW!
