Demand and receive accountability from all government agencies that are funded by tax dollars.

Created by B.S. on February 21, 2012

In order to maintain their licenses, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) are currently required to attend 40 hours of training to update their education on a yearly basis. We submit CPA licensing be contingent on an additional 40 hours, yearly, spent auditing all government agencies.

The audits would be conducted by non-government personnel, reducing the incident of bias. The CPAs would audit agencies in their local areas and rotate agencies, to ensure the integrity of the audits. Rather than receiving pay, the CPAs' expenses for the 40 hours could translate into a deduction, to encourage participation without animosity.

We suggest the "50 State Society of C. P. A. s" do the auditing. We believe this method of auditing would reduce fraud and waste as well as improve transparency
