Demand the appointment of a new Nevada state poet laureate by Governor Brian Sandoval

The state of Nevada is one of few states not to have a poet laureate. Out of these few it is one that has the complete ability to appoint a new one, yet has not in over 7 years.The responsibility falls to Governor Sandoval to appoint a poet laureate. The US poet laureate is chosen every year, with state, county, and city poet laureates being chosen at different intervals. But Nevada's state poet laureate position is one taken on for life, so why is it so difficult to appoint one? The duties of the poet laureate are to support and empathize the importance of poetry as an art. This is something sorely needed in our schools and in our daily lives. All I ask is for the chance to help better the state of Nevada and my country.
