Emergency Unemployment Benefits ended on December 31, 2013 for thousands of Americans. There have been several bills brought to the Senate to reinstate the much needed benefits, however, both Democrats & Republicans have stopped the passage of the bill for political gain. On April 7, 2014, the Senate finally passed Bill#3979, to reinstate the Extended Unemployment Benefits. Enough Republicans joined the debate in order to pass the legislation on to the House of Representatives. R-House Speaker John Boehner has refused to bring the bill to vote. This is NOT something that can be put off time & time again like it was in the Senate. Americans are hurting! Americans are losing their homes! As Americans, we are supposed to be able to have our voices heard, and not be silenced!
