Demand DirecTV remove former subscriber(s) personal information (credit card, phone, etc.) from their server database.

Created by L.M. on May 16, 2013

When cancelling DirecTV service as with any service one prefers to have their account closed properly if it is in good standing. DirecTV claims they need to retain your personal information for 3 months. However, after the three month period has passed they do not delete you personal information (address, phone, credit card info, etc.). Instead DirecTV keeps your personal information stored on their servers claiming they cannot delete the account or its credentials. Former subscribers are unable to change his/her info to random characters as the DirecTV system will not let you enter invalid credit card data. Why does DirecTV need to keep our financial information on their servers?
