The National Congress of Black Women, Inc. seeks enforcement of international labor laws In conjunction with imported cocoa products sold in the United States that are harvested, produced or manufactured in the Ivory Coast or other West African states through use of child slave labor.
Trafficking of children is in violation of international labor laws. The International Labor Office of the United Nations must enforce these laws as they apply to chocolate manufacturers, to include, Nestle, Hershey's, Mars and Kraft.
The wealthy chocolate industry takes little or no responsibility for human trafficking and commits minimal efforts to combat labor trafficking of children or provide aid to victims, affected families and their communities.
