The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela voted to elect a new President on Sunday, April 14th, 2013. The process was overseen by the CNE (Consejo Nacional Electoral), the electoral and independent branch of the government, and the institution that oversees and guarantees transparency of elections and referendums at any level.
The CNE's resolution, declaring candidate Nicolas Maduro as elected President, followed an electoral process of questionable transparency, claims of possible corruption that challenge the legitimacy of the process, and questionable electoral results.
We ask the Obama Administration to demand a fair, prompt and accurate recount of votes from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela's presidential election held Sunday, April 14, 2013.
