Demand the firearm industry be accountable to the effects and consequences of gun proliferation.

Created by R.M. on December 19, 2012

The proliferation of firearms, whether legal or illegal, results in the increased availability of firearms to the general public, inevitably also increasing the number of windows of opportunity where firearm accidents and misuse result in injury or death. Statistically, the increase of these windows of opportunity is directly related to the increase in sales of firearms. Ideally, to minimize unwanted effects, firearm mfrs. and distributors should feel compelled to supply or make them available only in a responsible fashion; i.e. they would self-regulate the type and number of firearms and how they are distributed into the population, including the black market. By demanding accountability on the firearm industry, the administration would ensure that gun proliferation is self-regulated.
