Demand immediate halt to collections by the pentagon against National Guard volunteers. Refund every bonus now.

During the feverish calls for volunteers in the height of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, intense recruitment pressure led to the issuance of reenlistment bonus offers to members of the California National Guard. Californians responded in good faith, with many paying the ultimate price in service to their country. Now that the pressure is off, Pentagon bean counters have determined that many of these bonus offers were not technically correct and have instituted collection efforts against former enlisted and commissioned members who went to war. This ill-thought-out and callous action is placing tremendous hardship on California's best.
We demand an immediate halt to these collections NOW! In addition, we demand that the Pentagon return every cent thus far collected from our war veterans.
