In September 2012, while in Iran to help build a secular orphanage, he was pulled off a bus by authorities, imprisoned and sent before a judge in what has been said was a sham trial.
He has been held in two of Iran’s most notorious prisons. Saeed has been repeatedly beaten by guards and inmates.
Saeed was recently taken to a hospital to receive medical treatment for injuries sustained from multiple beatings. However, he was denied this treatment and instead placed into shackles and severely beaten by guards in front of his family. Then he was returned to prison.
We must not allow American citizens to be imprisoned, tortured, and executed based on false crimes.
