The most insidious and hateful facets of our society have been emboldened by Donald Trump's Presidential campaign. He has done little or nothing to stop it. He has ridden on a wave of fear and anxiety and fed the superstitions and prejudices of a large swath of the American public. If he is serious about truly representing this country and being a President for all Americans, then he must reject ideologies that place one group over another. He must reject the hateful undercurrent in his base of support that raises the specter of Nazi Germany and the Confederacy, and he must do what he can to halt the momentum that they clearly feel that they are gaining this election year. We have fought bloody and costly wars against these ideologies and they have no place in our policies or our lives.
