In December 2012, and through Secretary of Education Arne Duncan's "Race to the Top" contest, Texas' Harmony Schools charter consortium was awarded $30 million in taxpayer funds; despite the fact that these schools, are under local and federal investigation for ongoing illegal and discriminatory practices, and have been linked to exiled Muslim religious leader Fetullah Gulen. This group of 35 charter schools continually discriminates against American educators, administrators, and women. In essence by awarding these schools $30 million in taxpayer funds, the federal government and by proxy Secretary Duncan, has rewarded the illegal activities and discriminatory practices of this group, and continues to penalize the true victims of this ongoing scam, the American taxpayers.
