Pussy Riot is a Russian Punk Band that was imprisoned for "premeditated hooliganism performed by an organized group of people motivated by religious hatred or hostility". This is blatant and public mockery of freedom of speech, in a place where freedom of speech is already suppressed. Regardless of your religious persuasion or stance on Russian politics, you should loathe to allow the any government to suppress inconvenient opinions under so thin a veil.
The Administration has already protested the violation of human rights and satire of justice that is the imprisonment of Pussy Riot. I would like to give the White House an American political mandate to further this protest, preferably with action in the United Nations or another international action as the Administration sees fit.
