Japan is cultivating friction from historical and territorial disputes with many countries in Asia, and because of this friction, Japan is imposing a burden on the U.S. foreign policy in Asia.
First : Unlike Germany, Japan refuses to apologize for the Greater East Asia War, its aggressive campaign to conquer Asian countries during World War II. Because of its continued refusal and reasons for refusing, it has brought about many conflicts in Asia and continues to do so. Even worse, Japan’s reasons for not apologizing are unconvincing and historically untrue, bringing about insult and greater indignation among victimized countries such as South Korea and China.
