Centuries ago, Vikings came to England year after year in waves of terror, rape, robbery, and otherwise unsavory behaviors. The terrorized population survived (forced to inter-breed with their Scandinavian overlords) in secret shame and concealed self-loathing. Years later, the American descendants of those brutalized people struggle with self-esteem issues, depression, and dysfunction. We descendants suffer greatly, and only reparations in the billions of dollars for us will make us whole.
